“STEM Occupations” in Central Oklahoma
Approved and Published: December 2023
Purpose
One of the measures of contract performance for the COWIB’s WIOA Service Provider is:
“Clients Enrolled in STEM Related Training”
This measure is defined as the number of WIOA Title I participants who enter training that is designed to support entry into a STEM Occupation, where “STEM” refers to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
COWIB has developed our own definition of a STEM Occupation. There are two parts:
- An occupation that is classified as “STEM” in the O*Net Online database: https://www.onetonline.org/find/stem
- An occupation that is otherwise recognized by COWIB as a “STEM” occupation.
